With this new version, we have 8 ROMs to offer for the HTC Kaiser, based on the WM6.0 AT&T 1.62 official release. Each ROM adds onto the previous ROM's application list, thus offering a plethora of options and applications for all to enjoy.

If your craving wasn't satisfied with one of the (8) ROMs in this release or (17) ROMs in Alex's v5 ROMs or (4) in Alex's v4 ROMs and all of the ROMs were created by the methods described in the Kaiser ROM Kitchen Tutorial using Alex's Cooking Kits and OEM Package Tutorial.

To Do

ROM Descriptions

UltraClean ROMs	For the absolute minimalist who wants to install everything by themselves. This ROM contains absolutely nothing except registry tweaks, HTC/Touch skins and the TouchFlo settings control panel that AT&T removed. Add your own .NET CF, Camera, Office, skins and other apps!
Clean ROMs	For those who wonder why .NET Compact Framework and the Camera was left out of the UltraClean version. For those who have used my ROMs before, this is similar to the v4 UltraClean ROM.
Lite ROMs	For those who believe that a ROM should always include Microsoft Office.
MultiMedia ROMs	Includes Multimedia applications and other important tools. Similar to the v4 Multimedia ROM.
Full ROMs	More applications to make this a full ROM.
Games ROMs	Added some fun by cooking in some games.
Home ROMs	Added the final touch, the HTC Home Today Plug-in.
Cube ROMs	Added the cube & some finger friendly applications.

FAQ and fixes

Known issues & Bug Fixes

Q: There are alot of bug fixes. Is it available in one cab?
A: Yes. If you have not installed any of the cab fixes below, you can install this rollup cab and soft reset your device after installing. If you want to have a single cab instead of multiple cab fixes, uninstall the others before installing this one and soft reset your device. You do not need to follow the instructions for the HTC Home fix. It includes the following fixes:
- TCPMP flv plugin
- HTC Home favorite people tab fix
- cube fixes
- long send
- organizer - contacts fix
- organizer fixes (New MMS, etc.)
- organizer names fixes
Q: TCPMP doesn't play FLV files?
A: download the TCPMP fix from one of the folders at the top of the page.
Q: bsw11 asks Is there a way to add the picture dialer into HTC Home?
A: Follow the steps below to correct this bug:
1. Goto start/settings/personal/today, on the items tab, uncheck 'HTC Home' and press ok. Make sure HTC Home is no longer on your today screen before you go to the next step.
2. Install this cab
3. Go back to start/settings/personal/today, on the items tab and check 'HTC Home' and press ok.
4. The favorite persons tab is now re-enabled. This fix will work on the Home & Cube ROMs.
5. Please note that you will lose any customization that you've done to HTC Home, which hopefully will be small because you read this FAQ first before customizing your ROM :)
Q: juju-35 asks The long send key doesn't bring up Comm Manager?
A: Install this cab to enable. Note: This will disable the long send press function of enabling the speaker phone during a phone call.
Q: juju-35 asks In the cube, why doesn't the photo button work and why does the video button bring up an error message?
A: Install this cab and soft reset.
Q: juju-35 asks I find that new Email/SMS/MMS buttons more useful in the Organizer, as just opening Email/SMS/MMS is redundant to the buttons found on the home screen. Is it possible to enable that?
A: Yes! Install this cab and this cab and soft reset.
Q: Gator5000e asks Why doesn't the contact button work in the Organizer?
A: Install this cab and soft reset.
Q: Problems connecting to WiFi or other network connectivity issues?
A: Go to start / settings / connections and under 'MEdia Net', click on 'Manage existing connections'. Select the 'Proxy Settings' tab and uncheck the dialog box 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet. If you are NOT an AT&T user, you should also run start / programs / comm / proxy manager /disable proxy to disable Cingular's hidden proxy. There is no cab currently available to fix this.
Q: Do I need to soft reset after installing each cab / fix?
A: No! install all the cab/fixes first and then soft reset.

Helpful Cabs

TyTN II Keyboard Fix cab For all those TyTN II owners that want to install an AT&T ROM. Note: You ARE NOT a TyTN II owner if your device is AT&T branded.
- If you have another keyboard besides TyTN II or AT&T (default), try using Schap's advanced configuration to configure your device keyboard mapping.
- You may also need to change the registry. HKLM>HARDWARE>DEVICEMAP>KEYBD>CWSLayout from 1 to 0
Q: juju-35 asks Is there a way to disable the large task bar? It interferes with using the jog wheel to adjust the volume while on the phone.
A: Install this cab and soft reset.
Q: whydanwhy asks I'm not fond of ?PocketCM at all. Is there a way to enable the default contact manager?
A: Yes! Install this cab and soft reset.

General Questions

Q: How do I enable the Cube?
A: In Settings / System / FTouchFloConfig / General, check Enable TouchFlo and press done.
Q: Are your ROMs User Customization Compliant?
A: Yes, they are! Read more about that here
Q: Why wasn't X application added?
A: I've added the applications that I believed would be most beneficial to all, based upon my reading of the threads in this forum. If you feel otherwise, make your case in the discussion thread and I'll see if it can be included in the next version. I've also avoided putting in programs that are too frequently updated.
Q: Why was X application removed?
A: The most likely reason why an application was removed from this version is because the application was too frequently updated. I believe that applications that are frequently updated should be installed via CAB. Another possibility is, I've replaced the application with one that I believe to be better than the previous one.
Q: How did you get X memory free on Y ROM? I only see Z free?
A: After each flash, the MicroSD card was removed, then allowed Tier Autoinstall to run once, soft reset, cancelled it the second time, ran connection setup (on HTC devices only), soft reset again, waited till the radio connected and went to control panel / system / memory to record the results.
Q: What connectivity settings does your AT&T ROMs have?
A: Stock AT&T settings, e.g., Media Net (wap.cingular) w/o isp.cingular settings, with the hidden proxy enabled. This allows AT&T/Cingular sites like http://home to work on AT&T phone service.
Q: Martinhdk asks: Can any tell me if the midlet manager is the same as Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed.cab. I find that version superior as it works as fullscreen with Opera Mini.
A: Yes, it is the same and it works great with Opera Mini.

Q: What is Tier Autoinstall, which shows up when I hard reset or initially flash the phone?

A: This is a OEM package released by Tiermann at PPCGeeks. The behavior described below only works when it's been cooked into a ROM. To use it:
- Place all your cabs in your \storage card root directory or \storage card\boot before flashing.
- The first time it runs, it will run w/o stopping. Let it run and soft reset by itself.
- The second time it runs, you will see the screens above. If you're using the HTC versions, ignore the connection setup prompt (it will run at next soft reset).
- Follow through and select the apps you want to install. After installation, the device will soft reset.
- If you need to run it again, I've also included a link in the Tools folder (TAutoinstall).
Q: Autoinstall doesn't run when hard reset on the UltraClean ROMs?
A: Autoinstall needs .NET Compact Framework to run. I've included it in the UltraClean ROMs even though .NET CF isn't included. Because .NET CF isn't included, I've also removed the 'auto' in autoinstall, so it will not start at hard reset. You'll need to launch it from the link in the Tools folder (TAutoinstall). This is the behavior found in the CAB version.
Tier Install cab - For those who want to use this on another ROM. As mentioned above, it won't automatically run on startup, you have to launch it yourself after installing.
