FTP Server
This page is all about the FTP server. This server contains all files for all HTC models available, and will be updated on a regular basis. Please read the Rules, and help us to keep the FTP in good working order!
FTP Rules
The ftp server is maintained by members just like you, so treat it with respect as if it were your own ftp.
Use the ftp for uploading new ROMs, Programs or Tools.
Please check before uploading that what you want to upload is not already there.
Upload your files to the directory as shown below...uploading to other directories is not permitted.
Add a filename.txt file describing the context of the file you are uploading
Edit 15-05-2006: As the uploads section seems to be deleted again, I re-created folders for most models in the uploads folder and changed the links to them (as mentioned below) accordingly.
Edit 26-07-2006: Seems the Prophet uploads where deleted again, I've recreated it using a proper dir. structure.

How to use the FTP server
To download files, just use your browser. Make sure you include the username and password in the URL. You can also use a FTP client, such as FileZilla Client to transfer files from the ftp to your computer.
To upload files, please make sure we don't have them already. If you want to upload, do so in the directories as shown below. You can use any FTP client such as FileZilla Client to upload files to the ftp server.
Please upload device specific stuff to the device specific folder in the upload FTP root (as layed out below).
After you uploaded something it stays in the upload section until a moderator moves it to the 'safe haven' (there is NO service level on this  ): The device specific folder structure in the FTP root
IF you uploaded something PLEASE check back once in a while whether your file(s) are mved to the 'safe haven' or not. IF it has THEN please update your links to it.
NOTE: If you are uploading (Extended) ROMs, please add a .txt file to your folder/zip, that describes where you got it, what's in it, etc., so we know where to place it.
ALSO NOTE: If you are using an FTP client and go into a subfolder once logged on, the FTP server does not always process requests to go back to the parent folder correctly (if you have a client which shows the raw commands being sent and received, you may see your client send the CDUP command).
Up until the second of October 2006, the FTP server did not allow this command for some reason, resulting in the error '550 Permission denied.' being seen. To work around this problem, if you have an FTP client which also shows the current folder path and allows you to manually specify a path, you can remove the subfolder from the directory path and hit Enter to manually jump to that folder (you will see the command 'CWD' followed by the path you specified in this case).
An example of a known problematic client was ?FlashFXP, however the server is now configured to accept and process CDUP commands. This information has been left in the wiki as a source of information for anybody who experienced this problem in the past and never managed to uncover the underlying reason. There is one remaining issue of Opera Mobile 8.60 running on a mobile device being unable to successfully authenticate on the FTP server, however that is being looked into.
