Because starting with WM5 Micro$oft introduced very different memory management, it's no longer possible to shift freely between Storage space and Program memory. After upgrading from WM2003 you'll be left with no more than 14 MB of Storage, just enough for those of us who hardly install any 3rd party software. Fortunately there's a workaround that'll give you 30 MB of storage. The best description can be found here:
If you wish to cook your own ROM, or wish to change the size of the RAMDisk or the Pagepool you can do it yourself. Whether it be WM5 or WM6. The complete tutorial can be found here:-
Any good FTP client should allow you to browse through the entire xda-dev ftp site. You can find many nice programs, as well as programs turned into OEM packages for use in ROM kitchens. What you will not find there are WM5 or WM6 ROMs because Micro$oft doesn't want us to upgrade our ROMs.
