HimalayaProgress
The first step was taken as HaRET is running on the Himalaya. !Works: * HaRET was compiled from source and can be used with SynCE from a Linux PC. It's a bit unstable though! * Booted the first linux-2.6.1-rmk0-hh0 kernel on Himalaya. See HimalayaLinuxBooting! * Made some steps in disassembling the bootloader and nk.exe: see supporting IDC scripts at HimalayaHardware * Found the proper settings for the LCD (ATI chip and GPIO B wires: see HimalayaLCD * The first kernel that boots on Himalaya was checked into the ~SourceForge CVS! * Fixed: USB is now working properly in the latest kernel in CVS, including usbnet support! * Updated the kernel in CVS to linux-2.6.3-hh0-xda0. * Updated the page HimalayaLinuxBooting to reflect booting a 2.6.3 kernel including zImage and InitRD * 10Mar2004 with kind assistance from Texas Instruments, got the touch screen (a TSC2200) working. * 17Mar2004, managed to get a response from the HimalayaGSM modem (reset working). * 23Mar2004, managed to send "multimode" commands and get a response! * 27Nov2005, boots with kernel-2.6.12 See HimalayaLinuxBooting! * 30Dec2005, Blueangel [ASIC3|ASIC3] MMC/SD driver adapted - works! hurrah! * 10Jan2006, Blueangel audio driver adapted - works with exactly the same bugs as a Blueangel... !Todo (See also HimalayaToDo): * Research the proper initialization of [GPIO|HimalayaGPIO] and [ASIC3 GPIO|HimalayaASIC3] * Investigate Keypad and Battery reading in the [TSC2200|HimalayaTouchScreen], and "jitter" from the touchscreen. * Get [DiskOnChip|HTC_DiskOnChip] - 32MB - working. 24nov2006: someone got DoC millenium+ working on another device - needs checking.
